The Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) at Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CLPT), established under the Ministry of MSMEs, Government of India, is a strategic initiative to reinforce the intellectual property (IP) ecosystem for MSMEs, startups, and academia.

Focused on the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, CLPT-IPFC provides comprehensive support across the IP lifecycle—including identification, protection, and commercialization. The key aims and objectives of the CLPT-IPFC are outlined as follows:

      To facilitate end-to-end IP protection for MSMEs, enabling them to secure, manage, and commercialize their innovations through patent drafting, filing, prosecution, and legal support services.

      To assist startups in transforming innovative concepts into protected intellectual assets, empowering them to leverage IP for business competitiveness, funding, and market entry.

      To foster a culture of innovation and IP awareness among students and faculty, encouraging ideation, design thinking, and translational research through structured mentoring and capacity-building programs.

      To promote a knowledge-driven innovation ecosystem by organizing targeted IP outreach campaigns, sensitization workshops, and technical training sessions aligned with national and international IP frameworks.
